Joshua Malina is an American actor best known for playing Jeremy Goodwin on Sports Night, Will Bailey on The West Wing and David Rosen on Scandal. He also had a recurring role as President Siebert on The Big Bang Theory.

After appearances on The Larry Sanders Show, Malina starred in Aaron Sorkin’s comedy-drama Sports Night from 1998 to 2000. He then joined The West Wing in 2002 and remained with the series until its conclusion in 2006.

Malina first appeared as Caltech’s President Siebert in the fourth season of The Big Bang Theory and returned twice in its fifth season. In 2012, he began playing David Rosen on Scandal, becoming a series regular in its second season and remaining with the show until it ended in 2018. After Scandal finished, he returned once in The Big Bang Theory’s eleventh season and for nine episodes of its final season.

Malina’s other television credits include a starring role on Big Shots and recurring appearances on In Plain Sight and Shameless. He has also had guest roles on Grey’s Anatomy, House, Bones, This Is Us and The Good Doctor. His film credits include A Few Good Men, In the Line of Fire, and The American President. He also plays the title character’s father in the coming-of-age comedy-drama Ethan Bloom.

Malina began his professional acting career in the original Broadway production of A Few Good Men. He returned to Broadway in Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt and later appeared in What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank at London’s Marylebone Theatre.
