Mayim Bialik is an American actress, author and neuroscientist best known for playing Blossom Russo on Blossom and Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory.

Bialik began acting as a child in the late 1980s. Her early credits included the film Beaches, playing the younger version of Bette Midler’s character, along with roles in MacGyver and The Facts of Life. From 1991 to 1995, she starred as the title character on the NBC family sitcom Blossom.

Bialik earned a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from UCLA, followed by a PhD in neuroscience. She returned to acting with television credits including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bones and 'Til Death.

Bialik first guest starred as Amy Farrah Fowler in the third season finale of The Big Bang Theory. She joined the cast in season four and remained with the show through its final season, earning four Emmy nominations and two Critics’ Choice Television Awards for the role. She later reprised the role on Young Sheldon.

Since The Big Bang Theory ended, Bialik starred in and executive produced the Fox sitcom Call Me Kat, which ran for three seasons. She also shared hosting duties on Jeopardy! from 2021 to 2023.

Bialik wrote and directed the 2022 film As They Made Us, which starred Dustin Hoffman, Candice Bergen, Dianna Agron and Simon Helberg. She has also written several books and hosts the mental health podcast Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown.
