Christine Baranski

Christine Baranski is an Emmy and two-time Tony Award-winning American stage and screen actress.

Baranski became well known to television audiences for playing the sharp-tongued Maryann Thorpe on the Chuck Lorre sitcom Cybill from 1995 to 1998, winning an Emmy for her performance. She later played Diane Lockhart for seven seasons on The Good Wife before reprising the role in its sequel series, The Good Fight, from 2017 to 2022.

Baranski had a recurring role as Leonard’s mother, Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, on The Big Bang Theory. She appeared in 16 episodes and received four Emmy nominations for the role. Her recent TV roles include Agnes van Rhijn in The Gilded Age and Victoria in the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers.

Baranski’s film credits include Addams Family Values, The Birdcage, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Chicago, Mamma Mia! and its sequel, and Into the Woods. She also voiced Chef in the animated film Trolls. Her theatre credits include Tony Award-winning performances in The Real Thing and Rumors.
