Brian Posehn
Brian Posehn is an American stand-up comedian, actor, voice actor and writer. He is best known for his work on Mr. Show with Bob and David, Just Shoot Me! and The Sarah Silverman Program.
Posehn was born and raised in Sacramento, California, and attended California State University, Sacramento. His career began after he met fellow comedians Bob Odenkirk and David Cross in San Francisco.
His earliest TV credits include guest appearances on sitcoms such as Empty Nest, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, NewsRadio and Seinfeld. From 1995 to 1998, Posehn was a writer and performer on the HBO sketch series Mr. Show with Bob and David.
In 1999, he made his first appearance on Just Shoot Me! as mail clerk Kevin Liotta. In total, he appeared in 29 episodes of the show over its final four seasons.
From 2007 to 2010, Posehn starred as Brian Spukowski on the Comedy Central sitcom The Sarah Silverman Program. His other TV credits include a recurring role on New Girl, along with guest appearances on Community, The Neighborhood and Lopez vs Lopez.
Posehn first appeared on The Big Bang Theory in a sixth season episode as Bert Kibbler, who attempts to join Raj and Lucy’s library date. He returned in season seven, where Bert was established as a geologist at Caltech. Posehn appeared in a further 13 episodes of the show across its final three seasons. He reprises the role of Bert Kibbler in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.
His film credits include Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, The Devil’s Rejects, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Five-Year Engagement and Knights of Badassdom. He has also provided voices for films including Surf’s Up, Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo and Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.
Posehn’s television voice credits include Mission Hill, Kim Possible, 3-South, Out of Jimmy’s Head, Adventure Time, Sym-Bionic Titan and Steven Universe. He has also released several stand-up albums and co-written comics including The Last Christmas and Marvel’s Deadpool. Since 2012, he has co-hosted the Dungeons & Dragons podcast Nerd Poker.
